At the end of April 2017, after a short break we opened the Heavens of Copernicus Planetarium.
The entrance area was changed – we moved the cashier’s island and gained some more space. The cash register itself was given a modern shape and made of modern white material. The area became more spacious, better marked and more comfortable.
The break was also used to install 6 new projectors allowing the visitors to see images in 8K resolution. This is 2.5 times more pixels than before and 16 times more than a full HD TV! In this way, all the shows gained a completely new quality and allow you to immerse yourself in the Cosmos as never before.
The culmination of these changes was the premiere of the newest production of the Heavens of Copernicus Planetarium studio entitled ”Hello Earth”. The film takes the viewer on a journey through the history of communication – from the mythical Babel Tower to space probes carrying information from humanity across the Universe.
The changes in the planetarium are the next stage of the improvement process that has been conducted in the Copernicus since 2015.
