The dark exhibition gives you the opportunity to learn the features of light and experience various optical illusions. Entering the world of a crime story in the cartoon noir style with a detective Wiktor Foton, you will try to unravel the mystery of weird incidents in the City of Light. By performing scientific experiments, you will find the solution and learn how easy it is to trick the vision. You will also find out how the laser wire works. During your visit in the City of Light you will also see the sun’s disc without looking out of the window and you will go on space journey to see the shine of other stars.

MICROWAVES
A table with two stands with the same sets of tools. One is designed for the experiments with light and the second one – for the experiments with microwaves. There are sources of electromagnetic waves and their detectors. Using mirrors, prisms and lenses, the visitor has impact on the electromagnetic waves and can observe them.

ROGET’S PALISADE
A device performing the Roget's Palisade illusion. Watching a rotating wheel through a palisade causes a virtual object distortion. The visitor may regulate the speed of the moving palisade and the speed of the wheel.

BICYCLE
This exhibit is a bicycle hanged on the wall. Its wheels have white and black patterns instead of wheel arms. Watching a turning wheel, the visitor experiences the moiré effect connected with the overlapping of the repeated patterns.

HIDDEN PERSPECTIVE
A room with a specific design – a person looking inside the room misjudges the height of a person standing inside the room: a short person seems taller or the other way around.
