RoboThespians are technologically advanced humanoid robots with natural size. They are powered with compressed air – they can speak many languages, nod, gesture and express emotions.
They were built at Engineered Arts Ltd., a British company that has already built the fourth generation of these robots. Thanks to their friendly appearance, wide range of available movements and intuitive programming system, RoboThespians are conquering theatrical stages in science centres worldwide, garnering sympathy of children and adults alike.
The Robotic Theatre of the Copernicus Science Centre is home to three young, robotic actors. Their predecessors went on a well-deserved retirement after starring in 20,000 plays.
