L.U.C and CSC – Higgs Boson
The unusual science video is the product of art and technology working together. Łukasz L.U.C Rostkowski and the Copernicus Science Centre talk about the amazing discovery of the Higgs boson. For many years L.U.C has incorporated music with picture and animation, but also with science. This time, with the use of music and sports analogy, he explains the results of the scientific research carried out in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva. The Higgs boson was the last missing element of the Standard Model, a set of theories describing the elements that constitute the universe. The Nobel-winning discovery explains why some fundamental particles have mass, and it takes humanity to the next level of the scientific puzzle.
The video was produced for the Copernicus Science Centre and it forms a part of the Accelerating Science temporary exhibition, displayed at the CSC from 10 October 2013 to 30 March 2014. The exhibition was prepared by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in collaboration with the Dudley Wright Foundation.
