Topic of a lab starting on September 20, 2016
Take a look at water with an eye of a real scientist and feel like at a science conference. Together we will think of how water differs from other substances, why it is different and how this influences water properties. During the lab, we’ll learn about the anomaly of water volume and why, in fact, it is called an ‘anomaly’. We’ll study how water reacts with a magnetic field, see whether water is a good electrical conductor and find about water’s heat capacity and its consequences.
During workshops in our physics lab, we develop important skills of working in a team. Participants are divided into two groups and work on a science problem which can be solved with the use of water and knowing its properties. Only the exchange of ideas, asking questions, looking for answers and a joint effort of both groups will give us the solution to our riddle.
