We have learned the names of the ten finalists of the second Polish edition of FameLab – a competition for science communicators. The winner will be announced on 11 May during the final round held in the Copernicus Science Centre.
This year’s FameLab finalists are associated, among others, with the following science centres: the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Lodz University of Technology and the Jagiellonian University. Of the 25 semi-finalists who presented their speeches in the Copernicus Science Centre on Saturday, the jury invited to the next round: Artur Franczuk, Adam Gągol, Magdalena Jagielska, Maciej Jasiński, Piotr Konieczny, Grzegorz Kreiner, Magdalena Richter, Marcin Stolarski, Klaudia Szklarczyk-Smolana and Igor Zubrycki.
On 11 May, the jury will select the science superstar, who will represent Poland at the international finals of the competition held in Cheltenham in Great Britain. The winner will also receive a cash prize: PLN 30,000 for scientific purposes and PLN 5,000 for own needs.
