In the municipal park Vake, almost fifty tents were put up. The scientists representing many scientific fields – from archaeology to physics, set themselves up in those tents.
The Copernicus Science Centre team occupied two tents and experienced an invasion of visitors. At the stand, the endless animations took place. The Copernicus Centre also presented itself to the audience on the stage: the animators presented a demonstration about pressure, received enthusiastically by the Georgian audience.
Despite the election fever (during the picnic, a demonstration of the opposition was also taking place), about 4-5 thousand visitors appeared in the park. The picnic turned a huge success of the organisers from the Ilia State University as well as of all those working in the tents – very recognised scientists, doctoral students and two Young Explorer’s Clubs.
