Critical design and medicine

During the workshop, we will focus on ethical and communication questions related to using animals in laboratory tests. In order to capture such vast and complex issues, we will implement the critical design methodology, which uses project tools for analysing social and technological changes.

The workshop is intended for designers, scientists and humanists, and it will be led by Agata Szydłowska, Ph.D., from the Chair of History and Theory of Design at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, and by Grzegorz Chodaczek, Ph.D., immunologist from EIT+ Wroclaw Research Centre. We have also invited two special guests, Michael Burton and Michiko Nitta, British artists, authors of projects within the field of art&science and critical design.
