Workshop: SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY

Synthetic Biology, which is a combination of molecular biology and genetics, is one of the latest emerging fields of biological sciences and allows, among others, for creating organisms that perform required functions.

During this workshop, you will discover what BioBricks are and how they can be used for building complex biological systems. We will also look at how Synthetic Biology influences the development of contemporary medicine and how it can be used in personalized medicine.

The workshops and the installation are part of SYNENERGENE project – developed at Copernicus Science Centre Biological Laboratory – that focuses on responsible research and development of Synthetic Biology, a new and fast growing discipline of biological research.
