Workshop: IMMORTAL CELLS

All normal cells undergo a specified number of divisions, then they grow older and stop performing their roles. On the other hand, cancer cells have the ability to divide an endless number of times, which makes them almost immortal.

During the workshop, you will discover how cells are composed, where HeLa cells come from and what ethic controversies treatment on the level of cells can cause.

The workshops and the installation are part of SYNENERGENE project – developed at Copernicus Science Centre Biological Laboratory – that focuses on responsible research and development of Synthetic Biology, a new and fast growing discipline of biological research.
