Temptation of Immorality – Main Exhibition

A rapid development of genetic engineering and biomedicine changes our perception of health care and the ageing process. Should we consider ageing and, in consequence, infirmity and death, as an illness that should be treated? How long do we want to live and to what extent will the answer to this question influence the social reality of tomorrow?

This exhibition takes a closer look at the phenomenon of longevity, as well as myths and dreams of immortality deeply rooted in our culture. By analysing the current state of knowledge, it raises questions concerning the life expectancy limits, both in the context of biology and ethics. Visitors will have a chance to see critical design and art&science projects that reflect on the future of medicine and role of the elderly in the family and local community.
