Looking at the level of scientific and technological advancement – is interplanetary civilisation closer to reality than ever? Are humans capable of overcoming physical, biological and technological barriers necessary to leave Earth and settle in a different part of Space?
The 1st Martian Congress is a forum for the debate about perspectives for colonising Mars. Our discussion will be led in eight groups, focus on eight main issues and involve eight experts. Together, we will talk about logistics, technology, health, socio-legal questions and other issues related to the transportation of colonists to Mars, as well as their functioning in the extreme conditions of the Red Planet.
Thanks to the original “reversed science café” formula, the debate will be much more than just exchange of opinions performed by specialists. Experts will be there just to start the discussion – introduce the topics and ask some key questions. The rest will be in the hands of the participants, encouraged to take active and creative part in the debate. Everyone is welcome to present their point of view – original, free from scientific routine and indicating new research perspectives to all participating professionals.
The Congress will be led by Tadeusz Kocman – engineer, graduate of the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, and
co-founder and secretary of the Polish Space Professionals Association (PSPA), who has been involved in cosmic projects in Germany, England, Poland and the Netherlands since 2009.
