Folding chairs are a very old piece of furniture – they were used by ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. However, the prototype of the modern deck chair we use these days was patented only in 1855 in the United States. From 1860 on, folding chairs were widely used on cruise ships, which is where their most common English name – deck chair – comes from. The Titanic was equipped with 600 deck chairs, six of which survived the disaster. Take one of the deck chairs in the park by the Copernicus Science Centre and relax. Take advantage of the library where you can lend books, games and magazines.

Every day, you can also visit the café in Pavilion 512, right in the vicinity of the Vistula Boulevard.
