29.09.2012 – 1st Science Picnic in Tbilisi
5.10.2013 – 2nd Science Picnic in Tbilisi
Georgian picnic is the first foreign event based on the Warsaw Polish Radio and Copernicus Science Centre Science Picnic. Both 2012 and 2013 saw a small town of tents sprouting in Tbilisi during the picnic. These were swarming with scientists, PhD students, Young Explorers Club members and other science promoters. Despite the election fever of 2012 r. (presidential elections) about 5,000 visitors came. Both editions were top notch in meritorical context.
Copernicus Science Centre presented experiments in their tents and science shows on stage. The 2013 edition was visited by another Polish institution: Polish Science Academy Physical Chemistry Institute.
Tbilisi Science Picnic is hosted by Ilia State University.
