For the summer holidays, the planetarium has prepared a special programme. There will be a lot of music, including jazz and classical music concerts, and music for children. We also invite you to our laser shows: “Dark Side of the Moon” and “Constellation Love”, designed especially for couples.
Starry Night Concerts – every Friday at 7.00 p.m.
The lovers of music and astronomy are invited to the The Heavens of Copernicus Planetarium for the exceptional “Starry Night Concerts”. Every Friday at 7.00 p.m., there is a concert of classical or contemporary music, enriched with projections displayed on the dome of the planetarium.
Dark Side of the Moon – on selected Fridays and Saturdays at 8.15 p.m.
Dark Side of the Moon is a journey into the world of strange, fantastic and mesmerising graphics, straight from the nineties of the last century. The tour is accompanied by iconic songs such as “Time”, “Money”, “Us and Them” and “Eclipse”. And that’s not all – the event is accompanied with an additional laser show.
Around Jazz – 11 July and 8 August at 8.30 p.m.
Do you like jazz and improvisation? Once a month, we will put you into the jazz orbit. We invite you to the new cycle of concerts – “Around Jazz”, at which we will listen both to well-known standards and genuine jam sessions.
Constellation: Love – Saturday at 7.00 p.m.
The show is an extraordinary proposal of the planetarium for a romantic evening. During the intergalactic tour, we will show the viewers the most romantic nooks of the Milky Way; we will also tell you why singles are rare in the outer space, and why it is better to come from Mars than from Venus.
Kids’ Concerts – 20 July and 17 August at 2.00 p.m.
Music, astronomy and kids? How to link children’s natural curiosity and musical aptitude with astronomic observations? Well, we’ve found the way! That’s why we would like to invite you to exceptional concerts designed specially for kids, held once a month at our planetarium.
New live show “In Darkness” – Wednesday and Sunday at 8.00 p.m.
The end of holidays is a great time to look at the stars. Nights become longer but they are still warm, and the sky offers plenty of attractions! During the show “Into the darkness”, we will present – using the capabilities offered by our Megastar IIA star projector – a simulation of the exceptional night from 17 to 18 August 2014.
Dream to Fly (in 2D and 3D versions) has been produced in its entirety by the graphic studio of our planetarium. The work on this production has lasted several years but it was worth it. The film was granted the main award in the FullDome Film Festival in Jena. Its subject is the history of flight; the original score was composed by Michał Lorenc.
We will look at the most famous summer constellations and search for the Great Summer Triangle. Amazing phenomena can be also observed during the day. Can raindrops form something else than clouds? Can you see ice shards in the air during summer? Our show will leave you constantly gazing up. The show lasts about 20 minutes and is hosted live by presenters from the Heavens of Copernicus.
Our offer also includes 2D and 3D live shows and films »
