Blue Future with RWE,
of present and future of energy
In April 2013, together with the RWE Foundation, we made workshops for primary school teachers, which revolved around energy. How to use wind energy, and how to use solar energy? How can we gather it and what are the obstacles? How does energy transfer data? To help the teachers answer these questions, we designed the „Power Box” – an education packet for grades 4-6, on the subject of energy, made by the Copernicus Science Centre and the RWE Foundation Poland.
Both RWE and CSC wish, that young people could understand, where is the energy taken from, be aware, that it might deplete and know where to look for alternative energy sources, but also how to save energy.
During workshops, we presented the packet prepared by us, called „Power box”, we showed its contents, suggested experiments it might be used for, but also taught, how to use it in your own scenarios, or how to discuss energy problems during lessons. There was an opportunity, to experiment on one’s own. Workshops were for free.
Participants were teachers of 4-6-graders in primary school, usually making lessons about environment, but also maths and technics. In order for a school to take part in this programme, it needed to send three teachers. Each school participating in the project recieved three POWER BOX sets.
