About Us
The Copernicus Science Centre will soon open in Warsaw, on the bank of the Vistula River, as one of the first institutions of its type in Poland. It will be:
- a realm of experimentation – The Copernicus Science Centre will include hundreds of interactive exhibits where children, young people and adults can carry out experiments demonstrating how the world around us works. The priority is on understanding the essence of phenomena, rather than on telling the story of scientific progress (as in traditional museums of technology).
- a paradise for curious minds – The exhibits at our hands-on Centre can – and indeed should – be touched and manipulated in order to perform experiments. By setting these experiments in motion and watching the results, visitors can grasp even complex natural phenomena.
- an amusing and fun adventure – Anyone who gives the experiments a try will quickly see how absorbing and fascinating science can be. Age is simply not an issue – the exhibits are designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of their age, can find something intriguing for them.
- a source of magnetic attraction – Visitors can easily spend hours or even days tinkering with hands-on exhibits, and will want to visit again and again.
- a window to the future – We will showcase cutting-edge technological solutions that scientists are only just developing.
The Copernicus Science Centre is a cultural institution created at the joint initiative of the City of Warsaw, the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Polish Ministry of National Education.
