On the Move

In the section “On the Move” there will be almost two hundreds of devices presenting movement and everything that may influence it – from turning discs and sprockets through movement caused by various forces: gravity, electricity, magnetism, to the movement of electrons – i.e. electrical current, oscillations that are the source of sound and up to cosmic movements of planets, stars and galaxies. Here one will be able to:

  • use his own brain waves in the game of pushing a ball through space,
  • putting into motion a gigantic machine consisting of hundreds of levels, gears, pumps, sprockets and chains collaborating in a precise way,
  • feel like an astronaut and experience impressions from an outer space travel,
  • check whether it’s possible to escape gravity and levitate;
  • challenge the inertial force
  • ride on a real circus bike, on a line stretched at the second floor;
  • see how objects move when their environment circles;
  • understand how thanks to the movement of objects one can manufacture electric current;
  • see gigantic electric sparks, not much smaller than real lightinings.

The section “On the Move” is being implemented. It’s being prepared by a consortium of two Dutch companies: Bruns and NorthernLight, winners of a tender decided in November 2006.
