These trolleys are a scientific mishmash that’s utterly captivating! Build your own musical instrument, listen to sounds that usually escape our ears, let yourself be surprised by optical illusions, and see if your brains are easily fooled. Fancy trying to walk through a sheet of paper? Or perhaps putting a balloon on a stick? Come along, think, and get involved.
Current mobile activities:
Microcosm
Look through the microscope and see the world from a whole new perspective! Here you’ll find samples of plants, fur, feathers and other fascinating objects that are usually hidden away in gardens, kitchens, forests and… pillows. Look into the eyes of a hornet, compare the fur of polar and brown bears, examine sand from the most distant beaches and uncover their secrets. Some of the collection comes from the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden, some from Warsaw Zoo. Others are finds brought back by our staff from all over the world.
ORBIUM – a technological cart
Play with fruit and electrical circuits (seriously), create your own game, discuss the jobs of the future, and find out what biodiversity looks like around us. Thanks to Samsung equipment and augmented reality, you’ll view 3D models, learn how sunglasses work and how they protect us from UV radiation. The experiences are based on interdisciplinary scenarios available in the ‘School with Technology’ kit, developed in collaboration with Samsung.
Mirrored illusions
Have you visited the exhibition ‘Mirrors: Between Illusion and Reality’? Be sure to pop along to the mirror workshops. Every mirror available at the station has its own superpowers, and we’d love to show you how they work. Here you’ll see a rainbow mirror, an infinite mirror, a transparent mirror and a golden mirror. You’ll also have a go at solving a puzzle by assembling a three-dimensional model of a Fresnel mirror. Come and take a look with us at the other side of the mirror!
