Academic Partnerships

We cooperate with the leading science centres in Poland and abroad:

University of California Berkeley,Graduate School of Education

The cooperation focuses on the development of Design Based Research methodology in the work of researchers, educators and designers in Copernicus Science Centre. Within the framework of the collaboration, there will be seminars, lectures and a Summer School led by Prof Dor Abrahamson.

SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Scientists from SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Copernicus Science Centre together study the processes of learning at CSC exhibitions and the influence of CSC educational programmes. The institutions carry out a joint grant competition Learning Adventures, which allows to execute research projects that are interesting for SWPS and CSC.

The science and research cooperation agreement was concluded in 2015.

The Maria Grzegorzewska University (APS)

Copernicus’ partner in studying the behaviour of teachers within the Exhibitions area. We also collaborate on realisation of student researches.

Prof. Maartje Raijmakers

Professor of Educational Studies at the Free University in Amsterdam, and an honorary professor of Cognitive Development at the Department of Human Development Psychology, University of Amsterdam and Nemo Science Museum.

Prof. Maartje Raijmakers is a philosopher and human development scientist, conducting innovative studies on the cognitive processes of learning. Professor of Educational Studies ( Free University in Amsterdam) and Cognitive Development (University of Amsterdam and Nemo Science Museum), she researches children's learning, their exploratory behaviours, and cognitive motivations. Her main idea of interest is cognitive development, and in particular, acquiring scientific knowledge in the context of informal education. Her current projects regard the development of learning processes, with a special focus on STEM sciences and the influence that individual differences have on learning.
