The Past Written in Gene
Thursday, March 27
DNA contains information not only about our appearance and how our bodies function but also about who our ancestors were and where they came from. More than 10 years ago, archaeogenomics emerged—a field dedicated to studying the history of species based on the analysis of genetic material. One of its co-founders, Swedish evolutionary scientist and geneticist Svante Pääbo, was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2022.
